The ls 650 reminds me of boats. Back in 1975 my grand dad purchased an brand new thunderbird 18' power boat. It came with the large 85 hp engine. The boat was fast as necessary and would easily pull several waterskiers.
However today a similar boat typically has twin 225 hp motors. Thats 5 times more hp and of ourse money.
When is enough enough.
I took my 650 up to 80 this weekend. It was happy at 70 but seemed a little slugish at 80.
Point is that I like to ride at 55-60 mph. And at those speeds this is a wonderful bike.
This bike costs at least half as much as my 1100 shadow and it will take me anywhere she shadow will go.
Its a very good value.
